Automotive Analog Products

Designers of electronic control modules within the automobile are being challenged to deliver increased performance in a variety of systems, including powertrain, chassis, comfort, driver information, entertainment, and safety. Microchip Technology's broad portfolio of low-power analog products enables the development of cost-effective solutions that address these challenges and others facing the system designer. As one of the first companies to apply Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technology to the development process for analog products, Microchip has utilized its NVM experience to deliver innovative analog solutions with unchallenged electrical characteristics.

Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs)

Microchip Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) meet precision-controlled conversion applications' low-power needs. This DAC portfolio supports 8-, 10- and 12-bit resolution with one to four channels. Microchip's unique and integrated non-volatile memory option allows for saving configuration at power down, reducing microcontroller overhead. This simplifies system design. Several Microchip Digital-to-Analog Converters offer high-precision control at 1LSb of Integral Nonlinearity (INL), improving overall static and dynamic performance. Small form factor SOT-23 and DFN (2X2) packages support space-constrained designs.

MCP48xx / MCP49xx Digital-to-Analog Converters

Microchip Technology MCP48xx and MCP49xx Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) are 8- and 10-bit devices featuring an SPI communication interface as well as internal and external voltage reference options. The Microchip Technology MCP48xx DAC family has an internal voltage reference while the MCP49xx DAC family accepts an external voltage reference. Because these Microchip Technology devices offer both 8- and 10-bit resolution, designers can select the resolution needed for different applications. The integrated voltage reference reduces cost and space while the external pin provides further design flexibility. The MCP49xx and MCP48xx are ideal for applications in the consumer, industrial, and medical markets.
