Microchip Technology PolarFire® 2 FPGAs are next-generation mid-range FPGAs and SoC FPGAs for compute-intensive embedded applications. Microchip builds on the established PolarFire architecture with significantly higher compute capability, high-performance RISC-V processing elements, enhanced security, and continued power-efficient operation. The platform provides up to 15x more compute capability to address demanding systems in compact, thermally constrained designs.
The Microchip PolarFire 2 FPGAs target applications where compute density, thermal performance, and power efficiency are critical. The devices support AI, edge computing, robotics, industrial imaging, AI-enabled medical systems, communications, aerospace platforms, and other high-performance embedded systems. The PolarFire 2 extends the power and thermal benefits of the existing PolarFire and PolarFire SoC families to help reduce the size and weight of power-constrained equipment.
