Vishay Semiconductors TSSP770 Infrared Receiver
Vishay Semiconductors TSSP770 Infrared (IR) Receiver is a compact module for reflective sensor, light barrier, and fast proximity applications. While Vishay is the world’s leading supplier of IR receivers for remote control, there is an entire product group dedicated to presence sensing in either a reflective or interruptive mode. For example, paper towel dispensers use an infrared emitter and receiver to sense the presence of your hand. Garage door safety switches have an infrared emitter aimed at a receiver to create a beam that, when broken, stops the garage door. The IR receivers for presence sensing (TSSPx) have a fixed gain while remote control receivers (TSOPx) have a gain that automatically adjusts. A fixed gain is typically need to sensing applications. Most TSSPx receivers have an operating and storage temperature range from -25°C to 85°C. There are extended temperature receivers also available, for example, the TSSP77438ETT1 where the E indicates that it can be stored a temperatures from -40°C to 110°C, and has an operating temperature range of -30°C to 85°C.
