Vishay Semiconductors VCND204x Optical Sensors with Photodiode Outputs

Vishay Semiconductors VCND204x Optical Sensors with Photodiode Outputs are used for optical data communication and reflective encoding and are available in a miniature SMD package. These sensors operate at an 860nm infrared wavelength, with a 5V reverse voltage, 45mA forward current, and a junction temperature of 125°C. The VCND204x optical sensors feature a compact construction, where the emitting light source and detector (silicon photodiode) are arranged in the same plane. These sensors’ analog output signals (photo currents) are triggered by light from the other device for bidirectional and optical data transmission. The VCND204x optical sensors are AEC-Q102 qualified and consist of Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) 3. Typical applications include wireless optical communications, position sensors, optical switches, and optical encoders.
