XR2280x Evaluation Boards

MaxLinear XR2280x Evaluation Boards are used to evaluate the XR2280x USB to Ethernet Bridges. The devices are Hi-Speed USB 2.0 with an embedded hub and downstream USB functions. They feature 10/100 Ethernet controllers, 4 UARTs, a multi-master capable I2C controller, and an Enhanced Dedicated GPIO Entity (EDGE) controller. The XR22804IL56-F shares a common evaluation board with XR22802IL56-F. The only difference between the XR22804IL56-F and the XR22802IL56-F is that the XR22802IL56-F has two UART channels whereas XR22804IL56-F has four UART channels.

GPIO Expanders & Ethernet Bridges

MaxLinear GPIO Expanders and Ethernet Bridges can add Ethernet to systems with an available USB port. The devices are designed for embedded and industrial applications where space is at a premium. These bridges pack functionality like I2C master, up to 32GPIOs and 4 UARTs, and RS-485 half-duplex control into small QFN packages. To simplify development, MaxLinear’s USB bridging products work with standard software drivers in Windows, Linux, Android, and Max OS X. MaxLinear’s I2C/SMBus and SPI GPIO expanders add up to 16 general-purpose I/O pins and offer enhanced features and functionality.
